Fresh from their recent Surfer Groms Comps wins in Coffs Harbour, the Gerringong duo were in impressive form in the next round on home soil, both walking away with division victories on Sunday.
Darragh had some tough competition - including from runner-up Alice Hodgson of Kiama Downs - but ended up on top in the under 14s girls class with an impressive 11.26 heat total. Meanwhile, Brown secured victory in the under 10s girls division from fellow local Rubylee Neil.
It was a strong outing over the weekend for South Coast surfers.
Thirroul's Joe Rocco Sommerville was fourth in the under 12s boys; Lani Caincross of Kiama Downs finished runner-up, Darragh third and Thirroul's Sophia Lamberger fourth in the under 12s girls category; and Milton's Everly Morgan and Riley Woods (Kiama Downs) finished third and fourth respectively in the under eights mixed class.
Darragh and Kiama Downs talent Holly Walker were Pics Star Performer winners, while Caincross was one of two competitors to receive a Woolworths Pick Fresh, Play Fresh Award.
Around 80 competitors, from under eights to under 14s, took part in the Surfer Groms Comps' fifth event in Kiama, which was held on Saturday and Sunday.
The next round will be held on the Gold Coast from November 20-21.
