The father-son duo have their eyes on The Everest after star gelding Count De Rupee's stunning victory in Saturday's $1 million The Gong at Kembla Grange.
The win left the pair lost for words, the emotions flowing as they celebrated their biggest triumph as co-trainers.
Stable apprentice Brock Ryan produced a masterful ride, the jockey overcoming a wide barrier to place his mount perfectly.
The win was Ryan's third of the day as he dominated on his home track. also saluting on board Theresa Bateup's The Guru and Divine Breath.
The jockey is convinced Count De Rupee is an elite sprinter and he's determined to do everything he can to replicate the feats of his namesake Peter Brock and become King of the Mountain next October.
"He's an Everest horse," Ryan said. "He had to do that today and put them away like he did to show that.
"I'll kick up as much as I can to get the ride. I can't ask for anything more than I've already had, I'm very grateful for that. What happens next is up to the trainers and owners.
"I'd be over the moon if they go with me. I'll be pinching myself. I pinch myself every time I'm on him. To ride in The Everest would be like a dream."
Saturday's victory came over a mile at Kembla Grange, however the road to The Everest will see the Prices attempt to turn their horse into a top-line sprinter for the 1200-metre race.
It's a path that will see Count De Rupee aimed at Group 1 features The Galaxy, TJ Smith Stakes and All Aged Stakes in the autumn.
It may seem ambitious, but so did Luke Price's plan to win October's Golden Eagle and they came within a head of pulling that off.
"I've got no doubt he's good enough for The Everest," Luke Price said.
"I honestly believe this horse, whatever we ask him to do, he's just going to do. I haven't had a horse get so much better after a run every time this prep.
""He's such a special horse. I've said it for a long time, the feel he gives you is second to none. He's a very special animal and I can't wait to keep building."
Saturday's victory capped a stunning year for the Prices, the pair enjoying dual Group 2 success with boom filly Jamaea before their golden spring with Count De Rupee.
It marks the high-point of a journey that began more than 30 years ago when Robert started training and accelerated when the pair's partnership was formalised and they moved to Kembla Grange in 2016.
It's moments like Saturday that make the challenges along the way worth it and they're determined to ensure this isn't the peak. That, hopefully, will come in The Everest next year.
"We've been building to this," Robert Price said. "Thanks to (owners) the Noble brothers backing us, we've been able to go to the sales and buy yearlings.
"That puts us in the hunt. You're not going to win races unless you've got young horses coming through the system. We've been able to do that the last five years.
"We'll keep aiming up now, we've got to keep aiming up. One door closes and another one opens. We've got to keep getting better and evolving. It's just hard work, it's never been anything but."
