Emerging gelding The Guru had backed up a last-start win at Randwick by taking out the first on The Gong day.
Just three hours later and Bateup was on top of the world, Divine Breath winning the Midway in dominant fashion.
Monegal couldn't finish off the triple in the last, the mare finishing fourth, however Saturday remains the biggest day of the trainer's career.
"This has got to be a pretty darn good day," Bateup said. "The three horses are such nice horses. We've taken them through their grades and I thought they were all genuine chances.
"To come here on your home track and get my first city double is fantastic."
Divine Breath has long showed promise as a city-grade horse, however she had struggled to win races. Prior to Saturday, she had one victory and six placings from nine starts.
With a Saturday win now on the books, Bateup is eyeing a bright future.
The trainer has also been waiting for The Guru to mature into a consistent runner.
Bateup travelled to the Gold Coast in 2018 to purchase him as a $50,000 yearling, a rich price tag in comparison to Divine Breath's $11,000 cost.
But with back to back wins and now more than $215,000 in prizemoney, the trainer has well and truly recouped her investment and is confident he will only continue to get better.
"The race just panned out perfectly," Bateup said. "It was a super ride by Brock and he really toughed it out. When Waller's thing (Shibli) came down the outside, I thought it was going to sprint straight past him.
"He digs deep and has a go when something is there next to him."
A key figure in Bateup's success was apprentice Brock Ryan.
The jockey rode Monegal to her first midweek city win in 2019 and he was back on board all three of the trainer's horses on Saturday.
The wins on The Guru and Divine Breath set the platform for his victory on Count De Rupee in The Gong and Bateup is eager to retain his services when his apprenticeship ends.
"He's going fantastic," Bateup said. "I think he might be my favourite jockey now."
