'Wirruna', located at 128 Darkes Forest Road, Darkes Forest is due to go to auction on Saturday, December 11.
The family home is set on 37.97 acres.
There isn't currently a price guide available. However, selling agent, Mattias Samuelsson from Ray White Helensburgh said there had been interest over the $4 million mark.
Sellers, Leonie and Peter Murray bought the property in 1996, having relocated from Stanwell Park.
"We wanted to move out here to have the nice open spaces," Mrs Murray said.
"At the time our children were all young - we wanted the girls to have the opppurtunity to have the horses, and our son had the motorbike.
"It was a lifestyle decision - having those open spaces and freedom to just enjoy."
Mrs Murray said 'Wirruna' was named after the Aboriginal word for sunset.
"After moving up from Stanwell Park, where the sun goes down at like 3pm in wintertime, we came up here and there were sunsets until six, seven, eight o'clock at night," she said.
"We were just, 'wow, look at the sunsets'."
The land incorporates paddocks, parks, dams, creeks, bushland and more.
The single level family home features five bedrooms, three bathrooms, multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces, renovated kitchen, a three-car garage and swimming pool.
The property also boasts four concrete water tanks, each holding 33,750 litres.
Over the years the property has accommodated weddings, parties, camping, bike tracks, horse riding trails, swimming holes and more.
"We love the peace and quiet of living here," Mrs Murray said.
"But we're still so close to everything - it's only an hour to the city, and half an hour down to Wollongong."
Mrs Murray said they were selling the property in order to enjoy a lifestyle shift.
"Our kids have all grown up, and it's just time... We'll be sad to leave, but the opportunity has come up to have a sea change," she said.
Mr Samuelsson said the interest in the property was a mix of local, Sydney and interstate buyers, many of whom liked the privacy that the property offered.
Property sales are typically rare in Darkes Forest, population 115.
"Not that many places come on the market out here - they're usually few and far between, and most people hang on to them for a long time," Mrs Murray said.
"You live out here because you just love having your horses or your pets, and it's so quiet. There's a lot of birdlife, and it's just tranquility."
However, the acreage property at 478 Darkes Forest Road, Darkes Forest was listed for sale in August.
It remains on the market, with a price guide of $4.4 million.
According to CoreLogic, the previous transaction in the suburb was in mid-2017 and there were only a handful of sales in the past decade.
