The company that started as Skydive the Beach in 1998 has successfully completed acquisitions of Australia's leading operator of aerial adventure experiences and The Maria Island Walk.
By acquiring Treetops Adventure the company has added treetop rope courses, net parks, canopy tours and ziplining tracks to its adventure offering. And increased the size of its workforce to more than 1000 people.
Treetops Adventure boasts attractions in Victoria, Queensland, NSW, Western Australia and Tasmania and recently opened the first of two new sites with Treetops St Ives at Ku-ring-gai in Sydney coming online ahead of schedule on November 14. The other is in Northern Queensland.
The closest attraction for Illawarra residents is Trees Adventure Nowra Park.
The Maria Island Walk is a wilderness walk in Tasmania recognised as one of Australia's great walks.
Chief executive John O'Sullivan said it was great timing for the group as tourism and leisure markets reopen in time for summer.
"These transactions follow on from the acquisition of Wild Bush Luxury and reinforces Experience Co's ongoing commitment to its growth strategy," he said.
"The two businesses joining the Experience Co portfolio have each demonstrated a track record of delivering financial outcomes and resilient earnings, and we are excited by the opportunities ahead for growth in each category with both businesses well positioned for record trading levels in the near term.
"These acquisitions will make us a better business through the near term pandemic recovery, and into the future, by the diversification of our existing customer base into a more domestic based customer.
"This in turn should deliver long-term value to Experience Co customers and shareholders.
"In the short term we are excited about the upcoming summer season with expected bookings for the Skydive and Great Barrier Reef Experience businesses to be strong as interstate borders reopen and interstate travel conditions improve."
