"We scrambled to 180," Churchill said. "We were in the game, but thought it was going to be tight. I didn't expect to come away with a double bonus point.
"We put pressure on them by bowling at the stumps and not bowling loose balls. They couldn't get us away and had to kick on and that's when the wickets fell."
Elsewhere, a Kobe Ross century led Wollongong (6-249) past Dapto (9-234).
University bowled Port Kembla out for 121, cruising to a five-wicket win.
