Beginning April 29 and running until August, 10 drag stars will compete in various lip-syncing battles and crafty challenges for a crown and prize money at La La La's in Wollongong.
Jake Kosarew, otherwise known as the beauty Ellawarra, is the mastermind behind the local competition and hoped to build the careers of many fledgling performers.
"We've got like a really cute little scene now," Kosarew said. "Maybe two years ago [I was part of a similar show in] Port Kembla and it was so good when I first started because it took me out of my comfort zone."
The competition cast have already been chosen with three women (including a drag king) in the mix, with occupations varying from a law student to a musician to a disability support worker.
"I want these competitors to go out there and build their confidence in performing and get out of their comfort zone," Kosarew said.
"They dont have much experience and the scene has been so saturated with me and Roxee [Horror] lately."
Each week the crew will need to embark of various challenges - such as sewing, singing and celebrity impersonation - with each evening completed with a lip-sync battle of elimination. The audience will also be treated to some stand-up comedy and burlesque performance along the way.
At the finale on August 12, someone will be crowned winner.
