An amendment to the Local Government Act last year allowed councils to make payments to a superannuation account nominated by a councillor.
In 2020 council supported the then proposed amendment to pay super.
Council papers tabled at Tuesday night's meeting estimated that super payments for the Mayor and all nine councillors would cost $30,477 over the coming financial year.
The mayor would receive super payments for their councillor role as well as their mayoral position.
The super payments to the councillors and the mayor would be included as part of the council's upcoming budget.
