BATHURST Showgirl Jessica Corse will be in the South West Slopes this weekend to compete for the chance to make it to the Sydney Royal Show. Ms Corse, who was named Bathurst Showgirl at the Royal Bathurst Show and Showgirl Dinner in April last year, will be up against representatives from more than 20 show societies at the Zone 6 final on Saturday at Young. Ten locals will be travelling from Bathurst to support Ms Corse. Showgirl co-ordinator Vicki Wilson said only three showgirls will be selected from Zone 6 to go on to the competition final at Sydney. She said more than 500 young women enter the competition, but only 24, from the various zones, get to go on to the Sydney Royal Show. She said it had been a goal of hers to be a Bathurst Showgirl one day. As part of the judging process at Young, Ms Corse and her fellow showgirl representatives will be judged on their knowledge of agriculture and current affairs.
