Like all good endings there were tears and laughter on Erica Hodge's last shift as co-host of i98FM's breakfast program this morning. The much-loved Hodge has left her co-presenter of 11 years, Marty Haynes, to begin work on Monday as the executive producer of the new Triple M breakfast Grill team in Sydney with TV host Gus Worland, cricketer Stuart MacGill and former rugby league player Mark Geyer.

Post a comment below Dye is cast for i98 radio slot"There weren't too many tears, which was good because I didn't want the whole show to be sad," Hodge told the Mercury today."We played lots of funny stuff, which was good but obviously right at the end it got pretty teary."Hodge, who had dog Angus by her side for the final broadcast, said the feeling of her imminent departure hadn't sunk in yet."Building up to it I was thinking, `wow, it's going to be weird taking the headphones off, it's going to be weird walking out of the studio and driving out of the car park, but it hasn't been," she said."So I really think it hasn't hit me yet and it's not going to hit me for a couple of days or maybe even a week or so."During her six years in the Illawarra, Hodge has made a dedicated and passionate contribution to the community, volunteering her time for countless charities.But the region hasn't seen the last of Hodge yet - she will return to the Illawarra driving a truck in the annual i98FM Camp Quality Convoy for Kids on November 15.
