The Hurstville United junior is understood to have re-ruptured the anterior cruciate ligament on his right knee - the same injury which ended his season prematurely in July this year.
Stanley took to Twitter this morning to address concerns with fans.
‘‘Hey #RedV fans. Your support through this tough time has been insane. These are the cards I’ve been dealt with all I have to do now is get on with it. Thanks again. #redvproud.’’ Stanley tweeted.
The Dragons this morning confirmed the 21-year-old had suffered an injury after he ‘‘slipped on a wet slippery surface away from the training venue’’.
Should he require another knee reconstruction, it would bring Stanley’s devastating career toll to four ACL injuries - two on each knee.
The injury also leaves the Dragons with little depth in the halves, with only Nathan Fien, and Manly rookie Josh Drinkwater the club’s only back-up No. 7.
Dragons performance director Andrew Gray said the club would provide further updates when available.
‘‘Due to Kyle’s previous history with knee injuries we are undergoing an evaluation process that involves seeking the opinions of multiple specialists before determining the best cause of action,’’ he said.
