Police appeal over Nowra sex assault

Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted at Nowra in the early hours of Saturday.

A 24-year-old woman was sitting outside a Kinghorne Street takeaway shop at 1.30am when she was approached by a man.

He grabbed the woman and walked with her to O’Connell Lane where she was sexually assaulted, police were told.

The man stopped when a car drove past before continuing the assault then leaving the area.

Detectives from Shoalhaven Local Area Command are attempting to identify the man and would also like to speak to the motorist who drove through O’Connell Lane between 1.30am and 2am.
