Jamberoo Goes Gay is a satellite event of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras festival.
It is expected to bring busloads of visitors to the park from Sydney and the Illawarra on Saturday.
Event organisers Gay4Play have booked picnic huts on the Jamberoo park grounds, with DJs to perform and food and drink packages available to ticket-holders.
The event will run alongside the park’s regular operation, and won’t impact on access to rides for independent visitors.
Gay4Play’s Gary Wright said the event was one of several they offered to social types looking to meet and mingle away from Sydney’s club scene.
‘‘Gay4Life was started by a group of people who were tired of the same old things – going out to bars and partying.
‘‘They wanted to do something different,’’ he said.
