They just knocked off the premiers, but the news keeps getting better for the Illawarra Cutters who are set to welcome back a couple of key players for the visit of Newtown at WIN Stadium on Saturday.
Michael Witt, who started the season as the Dragons' first-choice halfback, is set to slot back into the Cutters line-up after recovering from a dislocated shoulder, while Matt Groat will lend his muscle upfront. Groat also hasn't played since hobbling out of the Cutters' opening clash against his former club, the Wests Tigers.
The two big inclusions will only fuel further confidence in Ian Millward's side, who clearly outpointed Cronulla in an upset at Remondis Stadium last weekend.
"If we play like we did last week ... we'll win the game," Millward said. "That's the nuts and bolts of it. If we can replicate what we did last week in defence against quality opposition we'll win the game.
"Last week was really good from a coaching and a playing point of view. And from there we need to continue that."
The Cutters were also boosted by the inclusion of fringe NRL squad players Bronson Harrison and Jack Stockwell last week.
