The Shoalhaven Coast Wine Industry Association, winemakers, food artisans and festival sponsors have thrown the launch open to the public, providing a pre-festival opportunity to taste many of the new vintage wines being touted as the best vintage the coast has seen.
The festival, taking place from June 7 to 9, is regarded as one of the state's premier food and wine events.
The theme for 2014 introduces the festival's magnificent new artwork Life Beneath the Grapevines, created by Gerringong artist Barbara Spence and which now adorns the festival program and marketing materials.
Eleven of the region's best wineries - Yarrawa Estate, Roselea Vineyard, Crooked River Wines, Silos Estate and Wileys Creek, Mountain Ridge Wines, Coolangatta Estate, Two Figs Winery, Cambewarra Estate, Cupitt's Winery, Fern Gully Winery and Bawley Vale Estate - will open their cellar doors to the public from 10am to 5pm each day, with an exciting range of food, wine, entertainment and fun for the whole family.
The 2014 festival comes on the heels of last year's 10th anniversary celebrations, which brought thousands of visitors and residents to the South Coast region.
Festival launch tickets are available at $30 per person, which includes tastings of many of the new vintage wines, finger food and access to winemakers on the night.
Tickets are available by contacting the Mercure Resort, Gerringong by the Sea: email events@mercuregerringong.com.au or phone 4234 1359.
