Dark clouds hung over the region for most of the day, threatening to bring showers and an end to last week’s spate of unseasonably warm April weather.
While the temperature is expected to hit 24 degrees on Tuesday, the region is set to receive a blast of winter with the mercury predicted to hit no more than 21 degrees for the rest of the week.
Light showers are also forecast for the first few days of May and over the weekend.
