Dapto Dandaloo Fury gave their competition rivals another reminder of their Premier League credentials with a 3-2 win over Bulli on Sunday.
After handing Tarrawanna their first defeat of the campaign the previous weekend, the Fury proved their unbeaten start to the season has been no fluke at Dandaloo Sports Ground.
Dapto Dandaloo skipper Alvin Ceccoli found the winning goal with 10 minutes left to move his side top of the ladder.
"One swallow doesn't make a summer but at the end of the day these are the kind of wins you need to have," Fury coach Norm Boardman said.
"There is a lot of teams who are not going to get three points off Bulli but we got those three points today.
"It is great for us."
Before becoming the hero, Ceccoli opened the scoring from the penalty spot.
But Bulli hit back late in the first half with two goals in quick time to lead 2-1 at half-time.
The first came after Matt Naylor made a strong run from right back and fed Hayden Mowbray for a neat finish, before Brendan Fordham finished with similar composure soon after.
The Fury levelled the scores at 2-2 in the 68th minute when Noel Spencer met Ceccoli's corner.
But just as they'd worked themselves back on terms, the Fury nearly trailed again.
Shane Lyons appeared to pull down Mowbray in the box, but the referee waved the foul away.
The decision came back to haunt the Northern Suburbs club, who fell behind again through Ceccoli with 10 minutes remaining.
The former Sydney FC defender met Spencer's floated ball to head home.
"It just makes it harder when every person in the ground comes up to you and says that it was a penalty. But that is the way it goes," Bulli coach Ben Smith said.
"On the balance of play I think they probably deserved to win."
In Sunday's Bert Bampton Cup round-two clash, South Coast United defeated Albion Park White Eagles 2-1.
