Ms Lindsay, of Zen Hair New Direction, was the judges' first choice in a catwalk hairstyle competition in the Hair Shots 2 the World competition.
The Primbee 22-year-old's dream is to be selected for an international mentoring program.
Salon owner Nicole O'Brien said it was an incredible achievement.
"Teagan was chosen as one of only three out of the whole country to be selected for a catwalk session mentoring program with Carole Haddad, who is one of the biggest names in our industry," she said.
"She will fly to Brisbane for 10 days in August to work with her on the fashion parades at the Brisbane Show. We were told she was their first choice. She is possibly one of the most talented young hairdressers I have ever seen."
Ms Lindsay has been training for three years and will be fully qualified this year. She spends one day a week at Toni and Guy in Paddington.
She said it was great to work with such a supportive team in Gerringong.
"I would not be able to do anything like this if my boss was not supportive and the girls around me weren't so supportive," she said.
"It has been like a team building exercise."
Ms O'Brien said it was also a great result for the Illawarra because it showed that someone working anywhere in the region could enter a national competition and win.
