Hat-trick hero Peter Simonoski believes South Coast Wolves can build momentum off their come-from-behind FFA Cup win when they return to regular season action on Sunday.
The Wolves striker helped inspire a gritty second half comeback on Wednesday evening which saw the South Coast club triumph 3-1 over Spirit FC at John Crehan Park.
Simonoski scored twice from the penalty spot before completing his treble in the dying stages to put the round five knockout fixture to bed.
He hopes to continue that form when the Wolves face off against newly promoted Parramatta FC at Melita Stadium in round six of the NSW National Premier League Men's One.
"There is a bit of pressure when you get up there to take [penalties] but a goal is a goal at the end of the day. I will take them," Simonoski said.
"I have been playing OK so far so it is good to get a few goals and a bit of confidence going."
The Wolves will be hopeful the entire squad has a confidence boost out of Wednesday's victory ahead of their crucial meeting with Parramatta.
They have secured just two points from the opening five matches and need a win to kick start this season. If they can secure one on Sunday they will jump Parramatta on the ladder.
"Three points is a massive thing this week because we haven't got a win in the league yet. It's an important game for us," Simonoski added.
"Parramatta haven't been going that well either and will be looking to get the three points as well so I expect it will be a pretty big battle.
"I haven't seen much of them but we will just try and focus on our game."
Wolves coach Nahuel Arrarte will want his men to emulate their second half offering from the FFA Cup this weekend.
South Coast were down 1-0 at half-time but played an sharp brand of football after the interval.
"We didn't get off to the best of starts but we rallied and got a result in the end ... and a bit of momentum going for the weekend as well," Simonoski said.
