Wollongong City Council discovered the "low risk bonded asbestos" after the beach was badly eroded by April's heavy rain and big seas.
It had now been removed by a qualified hygienist contractor, a council spokesman said.
Warning signs had remained in place until this week, but have now been taken down after the council received an official clearance certificate.
"The signage remained on the site as a precaution for the general public until the final clearance certificate has been received by council," he said.
"There is no risk to the community."
