Inspector Robert Vergano from Shoalhaven Local Area Command said the birthday boy was allegedly with a 15 year old driver on a joyride in a black Holden Commodore when they were spotted around 3:55am.
The vehicle was first sighted along Central Avenue in South Nowra but failed to stop for a random breath test, where a pursuit followed – the car reaching speeds of up to 85km/h in a 50km/h zone.
It didn’t take long for the chase to come to a halt, when the Commodore smashed into a cement medium strip along Flinders Avenue causing damage to the front of the vehicle and drivers side wheel.
The older was charged with being carried in conveyance without consent of owner, while the younger male was charged with several offences including Skyes Law.
