All schools will be eligible for up to $20,000 just by applying online.
Premier Mike Baird said the cash injection was to help parents better balance work and family.
NSW Teachers Federation Illawarra spokesman John Black was pleased for the positive outcomes it would bring local families.
‘‘The federation is happy to see funding that ensures safe, appropriate and high quality care for students.’’
Grants will be provided to set up out-of-school-hours care which can be run by a school P&C, not-for-profit or commercial providers.
