Gabriel Corrubias Rojas appeared in Port Kembla Local Court on Thursday after losing his P2 licence after two separate speeding offences, one during a double demerit period.
In March, the 20-year-old was caught travelling at 83km/h in a 60km/h zone at Heathcote.
Only weeks later he was clocked doing 114km/h in a 90km/h zone on Appin Road.
The court heard Rojas had an otherwise good driving record and defence lawyer Danny Lagapodis put the matters down to an inexperienced driver not keeping an eye on the speedometer.
He told the court his client had learnt a valuable lesson and needed a licence in order to travel between Wollongong, Campbelltown and Wetherill Park for work.
Magistrate Michael Stoddart asked whether Rojas had seen the number of roadside memorials dotted along Appin Road, which he described as one of Australia's most dangerous roads.
"There have been so many fatalities on that road," he said.
"I'm sure your family were very concerned about this when they found out you were speeding on that road, because you might not get another chance, Mr Rojas."
References written in support of Rojas showed he was of good character and held in high regard, Magistrate Stoddart said.
Magistrate Stoddart upheld the conviction but reduced the suspension period from three to one month.
He also ordered Rojas to pay $150 professional costs to Roads and Maritime Services.
