McAndrew played for the Rats before joining Sydney grade side Bankstown and also represented the ACT Comets for the past three seasons.
Late in the Big Bash League, McAndrew forced his way into the Sydney Thunder side which went on to win the BBL, beating Perth in the final. McAndrew played two games, including the semi-final.
It has been a meterioric rise for the young bowler and continues the emergence of South Coast players in Australian cricket.
Warilla’s Adam Zampa has now named in the Australian T20 World Cup side and his former Warilla clubmate Maddinson having captained NSW this season and skippered the Sydney Sixers in the BBL, plus having played international cricket.
“I’m looking forward to getting in and having a crack,” McAndrew said.
