The success of the most inspiring graduates and educators from across South Eastern NSW was showcased to more than 200 guests at TAFE Illawarra’s Annual Awards.
TAFE Illawarra’s Institute director Dianne Murray said the annual awards recognised TAFE Illawarra’s students and staff for their exceptional achievements and contribution to their industry and the community.
“It also provides them with an opportunity for sharing their success with family and friends, and, most importantly, gives graduates a great advantage with their current and potential employers,” she said.
The 2016 event included the first-ever TAFE NSW Ambassador Prizes, named in honour of TAFE Illawarra graduates who have achieved resounding success in their careers.
The prizes will be awarded to recent graduates who are earmarked as future industry leaders.
TAFE NSW Ambassador Morgan Clementson, a proud graduate and Former Runner Up Australian Apprentice of the Year, travelled from Belgium.
She is now working for Puratos as an International Technical Advisor for Bakery and had a surprise when she presented the prize named in her honour to baking graduate, Mikayla Brightling, who is one of 21 students receiving awards for their excellence.
32 students and staff awards were presented with awards on the night including student awards across all course areas.
