The Roos are now four points clear of their nearest rivals Shellharbour and Kiama and just one behind premiers and competition leaders Gerringong after the thrilling 23-22 at Kevin Walsh Oval. Jamberoo overcame a 10-4 deficit to prevail, continuing their rise.
However, the race for finals spots intensified after Warilla and Albion Park-Oak Flats produced crucial wins.
Warilla marched to a thumping 48-10 win over Berry-Shoalhaven Heads, effectively ending the Magpies hopes of September action.
Winger Nathan Gallestegui, centre Jake Kinzett and second-rower Jesse Dee each finished with two tries in the Gorillas’ romp.
The Eagles took flight with a gritty 14-10 win over Nowra, after leading 14-6 at the break.
Gerringong continued Port’s recent slide with an eight-try onslaught, as halfback Rixon Russell finished with three tries.
