The Royal Scottish Country Dance Society Australian Winter School has finished its stay in Kiama and the many dancers and musicians have headed home to the four corners of the globe.
About 180 dancers and musicians from throughout Australia and the world converged on Kiama for a week of classes and dancing from July 3-10.
“It was great to see the locals at the Kiama Ceilidh and the Musical Travels concert,” Winter School convenor Ruth Pike said.
“The support of the local community really made us all feel welcome in Kiama.”
Many dancers spoke of conversations with inquisitive locals in the streets and shops regarding topics such as dancing, kilts and tartans.
