The Lagoon Seafood Restaurant’s 30 year anniversary was a night of celebration. But the underlying message was to thank everyone who has helped make it such an iconic Wollongong eatery.
In their speeches George and Andrew Harrison thanked both employees and patrons.
A highlight of the night was not only the launch of a book of recipes but the acknowledgement of everyone who had helped make the Lagoon what it is. Original staff members such as Joanne Hauser, Sammy Lai and Emmanuel Efstathiadis were applauded and everyone celebrated with a smile. Andrew recalled his earliest memory of the restaurant visiting the empty shell of what used to be an old puppet theatre on the site as a young boy.
He said he and his innovative sister Jonni Nicolaou now managed the business the same way their parents did by continuing to evolve and grow.
