From August 17-23 workers will be at it from midnight-6am to take advantage of low tides, with drilling, excavation and the use of “daymaker” lights to illuminate the site.
Council director of infrastructure and works Mike Hyde acknowledged the works might be disruptive but said it would speed the job’s completion.
Mr Hyde said tide, sea and swell had delayed the installation of pre-cast concrete panels to the eastern wall of the southern (“adults”) pool.
