The Criniti family this week revealed it still plans to open a restaurant in Wollongong despite a recent decision not to proceed with a fit out on the site where it was going to open in 2016.
Dominic Criniti told the Illawarra Mercury this week the family run Italian restaurant chain is looking at other locations.
“We will be in town in late 2017,” Mr Criniti said.
“You can count on that.”
Criniti’s was due to open in May on the Keira Street dining strip fronting the GPT West Keira Street shopping complex. But GPT Wollongong revealed in July it was no longer planning to proceed on that site and that Outback Jacks Bar & Grill will open next to Kinn Thai Restaurant.
The Criniti family is well aware of the number of Wollongong and Shellharbour people who have dined in its restaurants in Sydney, Melbourne and Newcastle. It is also aware of the interest that was shown in January when it was revealed it was looking to open a Criniti’s Restaurant in Wollongong.
