“We need a fresh start in Wollongong; one that is focused on the future,” Paul Scully, the candidate for Labor, said. “A representative that can get things done, not a lone voice.
“The Liberals are dangerously out of touch and ignore the Illawarra – sending local jobs overseas, leaving us with some of the longest hospital waiting times in the state and now they are privatising Shellharbour Public Hospital. We need someone who has the ticker to stand up for Wollongong.

“We need more local jobs – in existing industries and new ones. That’s why I launched a $200 million Illawarra Jobs Action Plan to invest in our future. A Labor government will move Liquor and Gaming NSW to Wollongong, and will require at least 90 per cent local steel to be used on all government projects.”
Mr Scully said investing in tourism projects like the upgrades at the WIN Entertainment Centre and the Mt Keira Summit Park will help to attract more visitors and create jobs.
“Cuts to our local hospitals mean that we are waiting up to 110 days longer than in other parts of NSW for surgery,” he said. “Privatising Shellharbour Public will make this worse as it will mean that the size of your wallet will determine the level of care you get. Wollongong deserves better.”
A Labor Government will also invest in our schools and TAFE, and build the lifts to Unanderra Station in their first budget.
Vote for our long-term future, not a lone voice.
