Previously called Imagine the eatery changed its name a year ago and the Chef’s Hat is recognition of the standard it has maintained since then.
It came just as Marisa Tatangelo-Ferri and her daughter Nataly Sanchez were preparing for Table 426’s first anniversary on February 3.
Ms Tatangelo-Ferri was inspired to cook by her mother Margherita Tatangelo’s traditional Italian style cooking using fresh vegetables from the garden.
Ms Sanchez followed her into the industry and the two now work together as a great team who welcome input from Mrs Tatangelo. The latest success follows a reader’s choice award two years ago.
“This is really big for us. I cried. There are different judges. They come two or three times a year. You don’t know who they are and you never know they are coming,”
Ms Tatangelo-Ferri said.
