Illawarra take on Penrith for a place in the inaugural decider, with Canterbury and Cronulla also meeting in a preliminary final.
They forced their way into the last four with two second half tried to the fleet-footed Lilly-Rose Bennett securing a 26-20 win.
The Tarsha Gale Cup is a newly-created women’s competition with a nine-a-side teams and 18-minute halves.
Meanwhile, the Steelers are chasing another SG Ball grand final appearance, needing to beat Cronulla on Saturday afternoon to qualify.
The Steelers lost last year’s decider to Penrith 25-10, having beaten them twice previously during the season.
The Cronulla showdown will be played at Shark Park on Saturday, kicking off at 1.30pm.
It will be followed by the Steelers’ Tarsha Gale Cup game at 3.30pm.
