That’s exactly what Internet sensation Scott Bradlee’s Postmodern Jukebox do – they take what’s new and add a vintage spin to it (see YouTube clip below).
The group, boasting more than a million fans on Facebook alone, is bringing their swinging sounds to Anita’s Theatre in Thirroul on September 26.
Their performance will include Top 40 hits transformed into doo-wop ditties – like songs by Lorde, Miley Cyrus, Radiohead and Elle King.
“There was this niche on YouTube where people were doing experimental, interesting, funny things with music. It was another way to reach an audience," Bradlee previously told Fairfax.
"It's a variety show, a musical revue featuring special guests.
"Coming to a PMJ show is like time-travelling back to old Hollywood - it's an experience."
