The 24-year-old joins eight other celebrities, battling it out deep in the heart of the South African jungle to raise money for a charity of their choice.
“My charity is Beyond Blue, and they help people with anxiety, depression and mental health,” she said.
“It’s something that I’m really passionate about and I’ve got a lot of friends that have been through it.”
The contestants will spend up to six weeks in the wilderness, where they will exchange their glamorous lives for a series of tough challenges and outdoor living.
Ms Holtznagel may not have made the best first impression on some of her new camp mates – labelling tennis champion Bernard Tomic a ‘’giant wa**er” and failing to recognise ‘80s pop star Tiffany.
As her ‘luxury item’ she brought a hula hoop. ‘’It's gold and black and leopard print, so it's fitting [for the jungle],” she said. “I've got a five pound hula hoop [specially weighted for fitness training]. The only annoying thing is it's so heavy."
The model is no stranger to television, having first appeared on our screens in 2011’s Australia’s Next Top Model.
After securing second place, she moved to the US to pursue a modelling career, and has represented brands such as Bras N Things and Guess.
The show airs 7.30pm Sunday to Thursday on Channel Ten.
