The mansion was designed by Ethel Noreen Garry, a creative person ahead of her time who was inspired by her travels in the 1920s. Her hand painted furniture was sold in David Jones and with her sister she opened the first interior decorating shop in Bowral.
“At Chelsea Park we make sure our guests are comfortable and enjoy all the region has to offer,” owner Davidia Williams said. “If only we could bottle it so you could take it home but since we can’t we will spoil you whilst you stay and we’ll welcome you back.”
Soak in the spa, read in the sun-filled rooms or enjoy sitting in the garden, play a game of billiards or have a few drinks in the ambience of an age when people enjoyed their leisure in comfort and style.
Guest rooms include:
- The Mayfair Room with a lovely view over the front garden, access to the verandah and prize-winning 1936 furniture
- The Chelsea Room has a Hollywood style dressing table, a king size bed (or twin beds) and is close to the upstairs gallery
- The Shibumi Room contains Japanese inspired furniture and pictures with a spacious ensuite and complete privacy
