The five kilometre and 10km races will see athletes race along one of McCann’s favourite training routes, with competitors to run from City beach to the UOW Innovation Campus and back.
Neil Barnett from Kembla Joggers said the race is a chance for entrants to raise money for charity while taking in Wollongong’s splendid coastline.
“It’s an iconic event on the region’s running calendar, now into it’s 29th year,” Barnett said. “We’re hoping to have a number of elite runners come down from Sydney, so it should be a competitive day.
“Money raised from the Kerryn McCann10 will be donated to the McGrath Foundation, who supported Kerryn in her final years and are very close to her family.”
