On Saturday, July 21, Jamberoo's main street will come alive with poetry, music, dance, busking, markets and more as part of the first Jamberoo Music Festival.
The festival will run from 8am to midnight, and utilise three venues in Jamberoo's main street; Club Jamberoo, Jamberoo Youth Hall and Jamberoo School of Arts.
Organisers Kane Dennelly and Erica Warren have felt for a long time that Jamberoo needed a festival to call its own.
“Being at the pub, so many people over the years have said that it’s such a shame the Illawarra Folk Festival, which was previously the Jamberoo Valley Folk Festival had moved, as it was the perfect backdrop for a great little festival,” Ms Warren said.
“The aim is to not only bring a great little festival and build it into a three or four-day festival, but to increase some tourism at that low time of the year as well.”
The line-up will feature local and national acts. Already announced acts include Lachy Doley, 500 Pounds of Joy, Roshani, The Water Runners, Kathryn Hartnett and a ‘Silent Disco’ from Melbourne’s DJ Duk Duk.
There will also be a busking competition, exhibitions, a kids’ music workshop with Penny Hartgerink and more.
Some events will be free and others ticketed. Early bird tickets are now available.
