A man has died in a head-on crash at Lucas Heights on Friday afternoon.

The collision occurred shortly after 4pm between two vehicles on New Illawarra Road.
The male driver of a vehicle heading south suffered critical injuries and died at the scene.
The female driver escaped with minor injuries and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics.
She will undergo mandatory tests.
Officers from Sutherland Shire Police Area Command have commenced an investigation.
New Illawarra Road was closed in both directions at Heathcote Road, and remained closed at 6:15pm. Motorists are advised the avoid the area.
A spokesman for NSW Transport Management Centre said there are also delays on diverted routes via Bangor Bypass, the Princes Highway and Heathcote Road.
Officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit have attended the scene.
Only this morning the state government announced a $173 million funding pledge to fix Heathcote Road.
The Woronora River Bridge at Engadine will still only have one lane in each direction under the plans but the lanes will be widened.
The plans include duplicating 2.2 kilometres of the road between Infantry Parade and The Avenue at Holsworthy.
