The enchanted love story of an American sailor and his young geisha wife, Madame Butterfly, will flutter down to the Illawarra Performing Arts Centre on August 22 and 23.

Presented by Opera Australia, the musical production also features a chamber orchestra and children’s choir, and suited to audiences aged eight an above.

Meantime, Opera Australia is looking for the next generation of singers for their Regional Student Scholarship.

They will take a limited number of auditions from eager Illawarra teenagers during their time in Wollongong. For details visit opera.org.au
