NSW Bike Week runs from September 22-30.
Wollongong City Council’s Bike Week event, ‘Ride the Gong’ will take place at the northern end of Lang Park on Saturday from 9am to 1pm.
“Cycling is a healthy alternative, especially for short trips,” Wollongong Lord Mayor Gordon Bradbery said on Wednesday.
“We encourage community members to come and join us for this great day out which caters for riders of all ages and abilities.”
Free activities will enable community members to learn about bike maintenance, safety and riding skills.
These are suitable for all ages and abilities.
Council’s capital works program has dedicated $39.7 million to building and improving footpaths and cycleways over the next three years.
