Top Warilla teenager Toby Peters stormed home to collect a bronze medal for NSW in the blue-ribbon Singles at the Australian under 18 Junior Bowls Championships in Queensland.

The three-day titles featured the top teenage bowlers from across Australia in Boys and Girls’ Singles, Pairs, Triples and Fours.
The NSW Junior Blues won two gold medals plus three bronze to finish third overall.
Fifteen-year-old Peters played well in the Boys squad, which leapfrogged to second overall in their competition. After advancing to the Singles bronze medal playoff, Peters trailed early in his match but showed terrific determination to post a 21-17 victory.
Victoria beat West Australia for gold in the Boys Singles.
The NSW Girls Triples took home gold against a Northern Territory-Western Australia composite side, winning 26-8.
The NSW Boys Fours team also won gold, beating Western Australia 18-8 in a fitting finish to Heath Walker’s junior career.
