A pod of 15 False Killer Whales were spotted by lucky South Coast dolphin watching tour groups inside Jervis Bay on Thursday and Friday.

The pod was sighted early Thursday morning off Plantation Point swimming around the bay and breaching.
Marine Mammal Research JB caught up with the dolphins to see them hunting. Photos and video were posted to its Facebook page.
"This is the first known sighting of False Killer Whales deep inside of Jervis Bay NSW actively hunting prey," a post said.
"An adult and juvenile swam up to the vessel displaying large fish in their mouths as they surfaced breaking the water.
"The pod was seen spread out in smaller pods from Hyams Beach to HMAS Creswell scouting the bay displaying feeding behaviors.
"It is not uncommon to see False Killer Whales on the NSW south coast as we have sighted False Killer Whale traveling outside of Jervis Bay passing offshore with Dolphin Watch Cruises - Jervis Bay and close to the cliff line from the Cape St George Lighthouse in past years."
False Killer Whale is a large oceanic dolphin typically found offshore in tropical regions worldwide and is the fourth-largest member of the Delphinidae family, often referred to as 'blackfish'.
