The Oak Flats junior has enjoyed one of his best seasons to date and he was looking forward to finishing off the season on a high in the clash with NSW Metro at North Dalton Park, however a quad injury suffered during a practice match last week dashed his hopes.
"It's pretty disappointing," McAndrew said. "My club side lost on Saturday, so they're out of the finals, this would have been my last game for the season.
"Playing against Metro with the chance to win the Futures League, if you can play one Futures League game all year, this is the one you want to play, to try and claim bragging rights over the city boys."
This week's match will cap a successful season for ACT/NSW Country, with the squad currently sitting in second behind Queensland with one match to play. A victory will see ACT/NSW Country leapfrog Queensland on the ladder.
NSW Metro have named a quality side, with 11 players boasting Sheffield Shield experience. Despite this, McAndrew is confident his side can prevail.
"It's going to be a tough match, the Metro boys have one of their strongest teams.
"Our team's a bit thinner with Greg West and myself not playing, but with the character we've got in the change rooms, hopefully the boys will be able to pick up the slack. If we go out and perform the way we can, we can definitely get the win and take out the title."
