The retiree, who wishes to remain anonymous, said the win was "life changing".
"I feel so elated. It has transformed our lives ... Not just for me and my wife but for our children and grandchildren as well," the man said when his winning amount was confirmed on Monday.
"We've always lived very humbly and now we will be able to holiday and tick off some items on our bucket list.
"We will be able to visit friends and relatives all over the world.
"We will be able to travel very comfortably.
"We wouldn't have even been able to consider that before winning Saturday Lotto," he said.
He was one of the three division one winning entries nationally in Saturday's Lotto draw.
The man purchased his winning marked 24-game entry at Ulladulla Lotteries and Souvenirs.
Ulladulla Lotteries and Souvenirs owner Rob Doyle said the entire team was celebrating selling their first division one winning entry.
"When we first heard that we had sold a division one winning entry we were so excited and we started decorating the store immediately, not knowing if the customer would come in early," Mr Doyle said.
"All our customers are very excited that we have sold a division one winning entry and are looking forward to the next one.
"A lot of them say that things come in threes."
The winning numbers in Saturday Lotto draw 3929 on Saturday 16 March 2019 were 42, 15, 31, 12, 1 and 8, while the supplementary numbers were 32 and 36.
