During the short chase, the man allegedly rode on the wrong side of the road and lost control of the bike before it hit a light pole near the intersection of McDonald's.
The man is accused of running from the scene but he was arrested a short time after in the grounds of the Uniting Church.
The man was charged with pursuit, driving whilst disqualified, driving dangerously, not stopping at a red light, drive conveyance without the owner's consent, trespass, resisting arrest and goods in custody.
The man appeared at Wollongong Local Court on Saturday where bail was refused and he will reappear on Wednesday.
