Police divers, lifesaver helicopter, Water Police, SlS and Marine Rescue failed to locate any person or objects and no person has been reported missing.
Marine Command NSW said inquiries will continue regarding the owner of the spear.
An air and water search to locate the owner of a spear gun found off rocks at Currarong has entered its second day.
Emergency services were alerted about 8.30am on Saturday to reports a loaded speargun, float and net had been found unattended in waters adjacent to Lobster Beach, north of Jervis Bay.
Water Police, the Lifesaver rescue helicopter, Marine Rescue and Surf Life Saving IRBs searched the area until last light for the owner.
As the operation resumed on Sunday morning, police divers were called in to help comb waters near Crookhaven Heads south to Point Perpendicular on Sunday.
There had been no reports of a missing person, Marine Rescue NSW confirmed.
