Event manager Grant Plecas, of the Cancer Council, said based on pre-registrations similar to last year organisers are expecting between 1200 and 1500 people to turn out and continue the annual tradition started by the late Dr Margaret Gardiner.
Dr Gardiner was the founding ambassador of the annual Mother's Day Family Fun n Run that now continues to be organised by Mr Plecas to raise money for the the National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). The proceeds fund research into breast cancer.
"We have similar numbers to the past few years so expect around 1200 to 1500 on the day which is always great," Mr Plecas said.
