More than 19,000 votes have been taken in the nation's search for the best fish and chips, with two South Coast eateries currently in the top 10 for the state.

As of Monday May 20, the Pelican Rocks Cafe at Greenwell Point were in top spot for NSW/ACT and second in Australia. The Innes Boatshed at Batemans Bay was not far away, sitting at ninth spot for NSW/ACT.
The awards - run by the Fisheries Research Development Corporation - are an opportunity to support local businesses as well as educating consumers on the sustainability of the Australian seafood industry and the vast range of seafood options on offer.
Voting for the awards across all states and territories will close Friday May 31. There are five criteria to ensure the best is found: taste, service, choice, information and presentation.
It's the only Australia-wide event that supports local Fish and Chips businesses and celebrates Fish and Chips excellence.
