UPDATE 2pm: One man has been arrested while two others are on the run after a high speed police chase through Dapto and Horsley on Thursday.
Lake Illawarra Chief Inspector Brian Pedersen said the drama began around 10:30am when officers tried to stop a black Mazda 2 sedan for a random breath test on Cleveland Road at Dapto.
"That vehicle accelerated away, they've engaged in a pursuit which they got up to 110km/h in a 50kmh/ zone ... before the pursuit was terminated," Chief Insp Pedersen told the Illawarra Mercury.

Chief Insp Pedersen said a police dog located one male in the bush, who subsequently sustained a bite mark to the leg. He was arrested and conveyed to Lake Illawarra Police Station where he continues to assist police with his inquiries.
Police forensics are currently working to identify the other two alleged offenders. While investigations continue to determine who the owner of the vehicle is, and why the driver and its occupants fled.
PolAir has now left the scene.
